Park Management Rules

These rules have been put together to ensure you can enjoy the Park whilst ensuring the safety of yourself and other Park users

Mugdock Country Park has so much to offer and we hope that everyone can enjoy these beautiful surroundings whilst acting responsibly.

  • Respect other park users and allow them to enjoy the park alongside you.
  • Be safe.
  • Put your litter in the bins provided or take it home.
  • Comply with advisory signs and formal notices.
  • Enjoy your time in the fresh air and appreciate the wonders of nature.

Dogs

Yes of course. We very much welcome dogs in the park and all we ask is that owners are responsible and keep their dog under control at all times. Dogs should be on a lead within and around our Courtyard, in Khyber Field and in any areas where there is a sign up to notify that there are ground nesting birds. Dogs are not permitted in the children’s playpark. Visit the Scottish Outdoor Access Code for more information.

*please remember to pick up after your dog and dispose in the bins provided or take the bag home with you if not possible.

Holding an event

We welcome events from outside organisations but ask that you first contact our Visitor Centre on 0141 956 6100 or send us email on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and a member of staff will be able to help.

We have space to hire outdoors, at our bbq sites and within our theatre.

Charges depend on whether the event is ticketed or free and details can be found on our tariffs & licences page, though please note these figures are only a guide and the total cost will be quoted once you have discussed your requirements with a member of staff. Your event may require an Entertainments Licence or Occasional Licence and staff can advise when you require.

BBQ's

Bbqs are only permitted in the designated bbq sites which need to be hired in advance. More details can be found BBQ sites.

*Disposable or portable bbq’s are not allowed anywhere within the park and our park wardens will ask you to remove it if you bring one. These can do a huge amount of damage to property, vegetation and wildlife.

Cycle Paths

We don’t have designated cycles paths but all our paths are multi use. We just ask that everyone is respectful and mindful of others when using these paths. If you need any further information then pop into our Visitor Centre.

There is a cycle shelter located across from the children’s playpark and bottom end of the overflow car park but bikes are left here at your own risk.

Camping

Camping is prohibited with Mugdock Country Park, however we do have an designated area for uniformed groups.

There area must be booking in advance and there is a charge attached as well. Please call 0141 956 6100 to discuss with staff.
